This collection of poems and prints was produced by a Spanish publisher in collaboration with poet Takiguchi Shuzo and artist Antoni Tàpies. It features 16 short poems by Takiguchi and 12 lithographs by Tàpies printed on handmade decorative paper from Catalonia, Tàpies’ birthplace. Since his youth, Takiguchi had been making poetry based on the idea that it was "a type of rebellion between the material and the spiritual." Tàpies, on the other hand, started out as a painter, eventually incorporating waste cloth and scrap wood into his work and finding inspiration in the sense of "presence" he felt in objects themselves. The collection represents the intersection of two different approaches to substance—one from the perspective of words and the other from the perspective of things.
